[00:01:04] Welcome to our discussion on the significance of setting an intention. Intention is synonymous with purpose. It plays a vital role in directing the healing process and achieving desired outcomes. In this episode, I explore why and when to set intentions as well as the process of establishing an intention during a Reiki session.


[00:01:29] Setting intentions is a transformative practice that empowers you to live a purposeful and fulfilling life. By consciously directing your thoughts and energy towards specific outcomes, you can manifest your desires, align your actions, and cultivate a sense of meaning and direction.


[00:01:51] So why set an intention? Setting an intention requires clarity on what you truly want to achieve, what [00:02:00] your aim is, what you want from your healing process. It allows you to align your energy and establish a specific direction for your healing journey. By setting an intention, you can move beyond limiting beliefs and open yourself up to the full potential of healing and growth.


[00:02:24] Setting an intention is helpful when setting goals and helping you work through mental blocks. Intentions serve as a powerful tool for manifestation. By setting these clear and positive intentions, you are activating the law of attraction. You draw opportunities, resources, and experiences that align with your desires.

[00:02:51] They help you create the conditions necessary for success, and they bring your dreams into a [00:03:00] reality. What does this mean? It means you can set intentions to help you in healing and to expand and enhance your life in other ways. People tend to set intentions at periods of new beginnings.


[00:03:17] Who doesn't set a New Year's resolution every year? Some people set intentions at the start of a new month, and even a new day can be an ideal time to set intentions. There are many of us out there who have a gratitude journal. And we write in these every morning setting intentions for the day, reflecting on our goals and making things happen.


[00:03:46] All of these junctures offer a fresh start and provide a natural opportunity for reflection, goal setting, and aligning your actions with your aspirations. [00:04:00] Significant life events, grads, career changes, relationship changes. Or personal achievements, present occasions to set intention. It's these moments of transition that allow you to recalibrate your direction, clarify your values, and set your new intentions for the next phase of your journey.


[00:04:25] You can also set intentions during reflection periods. This will enable you to stay connected with your desires and maintain Focus on what truly matters to you. Setting an intention, it's a personal choice, and many holistic health practitioners will guide you to setting intentions during your healing sessions.


[00:04:47] You'll be guided to reflect and connect with your inner desires. You'll be specific and positive to formulate your intentions in a clear and positive manner. [00:05:00] You'll avoid negative or vague statements. You don't wanna dilute the power of your intentions. You really want to know what you want and be really positive about it.


[00:05:15] Commit your intentions to paper. This act of writing solidifies your intentions, increases your accountability, and serves as a visual reminder of your aspirations. So write it down, take it on a wall, write it on the mirror, put it on your bulletin board somewhere where you are going to see it, but do not stick it in the back of a drawer.


[00:05:47] You'll then spend time visualizing and feeling as if your intentions have already happened. Engage your imagination. Vividly picture yourself living your [00:06:00] intentions and allow yourself to experience the emotions associated with their fulfillment. This helps activate the creative power of your intentions.


[00:06:11] Your practitioner will remind you to take aligned action. Setting the intentions alone is not enough. Take deliberate and inspired action aligned with your intentions. Break these down into a achievable steps and consistently pursue them. Each action you take brings you closer to manifesting your intentions.

[00:06:37] If you are setting an intention during a Reiki session, you'll typically begin with relaxation.


[00:06:44] Lay down, relax, and allow the life force energy known as ki to flow naturally. Reiki energy knows where it needs to go. There's no need to try and direct it consciously.

[00:06:58] To maximize on this [00:07:00] relaxation, you'll be in a calm and peaceful environment. The lights will likely be dimmed, there'll be soothing music, and you will be comfortable with cozy blankets, beautiful pillows, and a really safe space. This helps establish a conducive atmosphere for healing.


[00:07:20] Your practitioner will center and ground you

[00:07:24] If you're participating in self Reiki, take a few moments to center yourself and connect with your breath. This cultivates inner calm and presence. Enabling you to focus your energy and intentions effectively. Then you'll set the intention.


[00:07:42] If your intention setting during your Reiki session, you'll typically engage in a conversation with your Reiki practitioner to discuss the purpose of the session. You'll share your specific goals, your intentions, or areas of concern you would like to address. Your [00:08:00] practitioner will actively listen and assist you in refining your intention, ensuring clarity and focus.


[00:08:07] Once you've established your intention, you may be guided through a visualization exercise. This involves envisioning the desired outcome or visualizing yourself in a state of optimal wellbeing. Affirmations or positive statements related to the intention can be used to reinforce focus and attention.

The practitioner may hold the intention consciously in their mind, allowing the energy to support your healing process. The intention serves as a focal point, aligning and amplifying the healing energy in the desired direction.

The intention acts as a guiding force, providing a specific focus for the healing energy and allowing it to address your needs on various levels. The combined power of intention and Reiki energy can promote healing, relaxation, emotional wellbeing, and spiritual growth.
